Fire Chief Charles E. Doody
Chief Charles Doody joined RPH Life Safety Consultants, LLC in January of 2022.
Chief Charles Doody began his fire service career in 1995 when he was hired as firefighter/EMT in the Town of Canton, MA. He was promoted to Fire Lieutenant in 1999, serving in the Fire Prevention Division. In 2004, he was promoted to Deputy Fire Chief and oversaw the Fire Prevention, Training and EMS Divisions, in addition to managing all aspects of commercial plan review and inspections. Charles Doody was appointed the Fire Chief in 2009 and is still serving in that capacity today.
Chief Doody also serves as the Emergency Management Director for the Town of Canton, MA, responsible for planning and response to both manmade and natural disasters, in addition to large scale events. He serves on several committees, including serving as the chairperson of the Substance Abuse Coalition and the Canton Helpline, which operates the town’s food pantry.
Chief Doody is a past president of the Norfolk County Fire Chief’s Association and Massachusetts Director for the Fire Chief’s Association of Massachusetts. Currently Chief Doody serves as the President of the New England Association of Fire Chief’s and chairs the Constitution, By-Laws and Resolutions Committee for the International Association of Fire Chief’s.
Chief Doody holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Education degree from the University of New Hampshire. He is a 2014 graduate of the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD, a certified Fire Chief in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and sits on the advisory board for the Fire Science degree program at Massasoit Community College. Chief Doody also holds a number of fire service and life safety certifications.
